My Story: The Great Ball
By: Wilson Sheaffer
When I got the ball that day, I was so happy. That is the day I am going to tell you about.
It was during the summer of 2010 when my mom, my dad, Max, Tucker, Rush, John, and I went to the baseball Hall of Fame. We saw lots of the greatest ballplayers golden plaques. It was so exiting!
At the end of the tour, we decided to go to the gift shop. Max, running around the gift shop like he was crazy, found MLB Hall of Fame t-shirts. He convinced my mom to buy one for all of us. John, just browsing everything, bought a New York Yankees flatbill hat. Me, on the other hand, found something amazing, a ball autographed by all the Yankees. It was not a copy the signatures were real and to prove it, it came with a certificate stating that it was real.
I tried to convince my mom to buy it for me but she wouldn’t. My dad bought it for me without a doubt. When I got home, I showed it off to everyone I knew. They were all very jealous of me and acted glum because they didn’t have one.
Till this day, I still have the ball and every morning when I wake up I see the ball and remember that very day, and how my dad showed how he loved me by paying a lot of money for that one little ball.
